10-28-2006: Sanibel is now the location for one of the most unique educational experiences one can imagine. The Sanibel Sea School specializes in the education of children ages 6 to 13 and adults about marine ecosystems in a day class setting.
With the majority of the island set aside as wilderness and wildlife habitat, Sanibel Island provides the perfect backdrop for this unique classroom experience. Sanibel Sea School offers not only a focused classroom setting but a true “hands on” field experience. Field collected specimens are gathered and brought back for more involved study. Each day includes arts and crafts sessions involving the subject of the day, field studies and specimen collection, and lunch is provided.
Space is limited each day to 12 students. Please call 239-472-8585 to make reservations and for more information.
Make plans to support the Sea School by attending the annual Octifest party on the beach.
