The Charitable Foundation of the Islands also known as CFI will hold it's 2nd Volunteer Expo on January 16th, 2025 from 4:00 - 7:00pm. Held at the Sanibel Community House, this event is free for anyone who wants to learn how they can get involved with up to 50 organizations, clubs, and non-profits.

We're often asked by new Sanibel & Captiva Island residents "How can I get involved in the community? Who should I support? Where do I go to sign up to help?" Eric and Mary Ellen Pfeifer often joke that "if you make eye contact, you're in". This is one of the most amazing places where volunteers truly make a giant impact throughout Southwest Florida. CFI has grown to become one of the most impactful non-profits on Sanibel & Captiva as they work to identify the greatest needs across all organizations. As a current CFI Board of Director Eric Pfeifer and former CFI Board of Director, Mary Ellen Pfeifer know the importance of the work that Charitable Foundation of the Islands provides. "Since we moved to Sanibel in 2001, Mary Ellen and I have served the Islands in many capacities, on boards, and committees, and continue to do so. We feel that CFI's Volunteer Expo is the greatest way to connect people to our community in a tangible meaningful way" said Eric Pfeifer. "When we moved to Sanibel, I wanted our young children to play flag football, but this was not offered, so I started the NFL Youth Coed Flag Football League. This underscores how willing our community is to support current and new organizations. So if you are passionate about something that's not represented at this year's Volunteer Expo, start it" continued Pfeifer.

Due to the available space, the Expo is limited to the first 50 Sanibel and Captiva clubs, nonprofits and community groups! Be sure you secure your organizations space now.
