For the second year in a row, the Sanibel Elves created quite a scene at Santa's Southern Workshop. Six Elves currently live in Santa's Southern Workshop. Palmer, Bailey, Junonia, Shelly and the twins Perry and Winkle. Santa's love of fishing, boating, bird watching and shelling bring him to Sanibel so frequently that he opened a Southern Workshop in 2008. While on the island, Santa maintains a low profile. However this can't be said about the 6 elves that live in his Southern Workshop! These elves are frequently spotted "working hard" at hardly working!!! The Sanibel Elves: Palmer, Shelly, Bailey, Junonia, and the twins Perry & Winkle are easily distracted by all the fun things to do on Sanibel. "Santa and Mrs. Claus are ready to close the Southern Workshop because we haven't made one toy yet." stated Shelly who has worked with Santa for more than 500 years! "This year we will try our best to focus on work and create the VERY BEST TOYS ever!" exclaimed Perry. Despite the elves good intentions, we continue to receive reports about the elves goofing off! On Halloween the twins Perry and Winkle tried to disguise themselves as a ghost and pumpkin to get some free candy! Palmer the elf was frequently spotted pretending to be a scarecrow on Periwinkle Way!!!!!! IF YOU CATCH THE ELVES CLOWNING AROUND, REMIND THEM TO GET TO WORK OR THEY WILL SOON BE BACK AT THE NORTH POLE SHOVELING SNOW!!!!!!!!!! Follow the "Sanibel Elves" on Facebook.
